What We've Been up to...

The 14th was Tim's 30th and we started off the day buying Tim's new mountain bike. Then we attached our hitchhiker bike to it and the bike trailer to my bike and we went on a family bike ride. I had Ky and Rae in the trailer and Sam rode the hitchhiker with Tim. It was the first time we have been able to go on a ride with the whole family! Then later that night we had a birthday party for Tim at his parents house.





Earlier this month my brother Brady got his mission call to Zimbabwe, Africa! He will serve for two years there. He leaves in September. I already have a brother on a mission in Georgia and a sister in law serving in Ohio. Below is a pic of him opening his call. Just look at the excitement on his face. It says it all! And below that is a pic of my dad and Sam looking up Zimbabwe on the globe.

We've also been super busy with Sam's soccer. His last game was last Saturday, so we get a break until fall. He loved it. He scored the most goals out of all his teammates. Most of all it was just so much fun watching a bunch of 5 year olds running around. At first the team was horrible! They really just ran around and goofed off, but near the end it was cool to see them learn how to play and start making goals. They got pretty good there at the end. Soccer has been something that Sam really loves. He wasn't very interested in t-ball (much to Tim's dismay) but we've decided not to force anything on our kids. We are going to give them the opportunities to play or do or be whatever they want and support them in what they choose.
